Bálint Bassola is lawyer at the Hungarian Competition Authority (Gazdasági Versenyhivatal). He received his law degree from Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest and his LL.M. degree from the College of Europe (Bruges). During his studies he had the opportunity to spend one year at the Universität Regensburg. Furthermore, in 2001-2002 he obtained the Diplôme Interdisciplinaire des Etudes Européennes from the Institut des Hautes Etudes Européennes of the Université Robert Schuman de Strasbourg. Bálint BASSOLA was awarded twice with the Scholarship of the Republic for academic excellence (1999 and 2002). In 2003 with he was honoured to receive the first prize of the National Essay Competition of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly with a comparative law analysis. Bálint BASSOLA has several publications in the area of Hungarian and EC competition law. Currently he is a Brooke Scholar at Corpus Christi College, University of Cambridge.
