David Spector is an Associate Professor at the Paris School of Economics and the founder of MAPP, an economic consulting firm. After a training in mathematics at the Ecole Normale Supérieure and an Economics Ph.D. at the London School of Economics, he was an Assistant Professor at the Economics department of MIT until 2001. David Spector's pubications and teaching deal with the theory of oligopolistic competition, with a focus on exclusionary practices, mergers, and State aid. He also published a book on the electricity market (Electricité : faut-il désespérer du marché ?, Editions Rue d'Ulm, 2007). In his consulting work, he has been producing economic expert reports in merger, cartel, abuse of dominance, and State aid cases, before the French, Dutch and Australian competition authorities and the European Commission, as well as before national and European Courts.
